MASTER GARDENERS: GROWING GREAT VEGETABLES, PART 4 - Join Amador Master Gardeners for the last class in the series "Growing Great Vegetables" on Saturday, October 19th from 9am to noon. In many parts of the county, growing vegetables is a year-round activity. Make  the most of your vegetable garden at many elevations. Learn about fall clean-up activities in the garden  and landscape. Find out how to select fall color and dig up and divide bulbs and perennials. Preparation now can make your landscape nearly weed free. This free class is open to be public and is being held at the County GSA Building, 12200-B Airport Road in Jackson. For more information contact the Master Gardeners at the UC Cooperative Extension Office from 10am to noon, Tuesday through Thursday, 223-6838, or email mgamador@ucdavis.edu

AMADOR HIGH SCHOOL’S 10th ANNUAL BROADWAY DINNER – Sat Oct 19 at 6:30 PM at the Immaculate Conception, Spanish Street, Sutter Creek. Gourmet dining, Broadway hits, star dancers, the studio and AHS’s musical. Selections from “West Side Story”. Floral raffle, live and silent auctions. Limited seating. 100 adults. FREE CONCERT BY THE AMADOR COUNTY CONCERT BAND – Sun Oct 20 at 3PM. A free concert will be presented by the 48-member Amador County Concert Band under the direction of Steve Chambers and Irv Gidding on Sunday, October 20 at 3pm. The program will be held at the Community Church of Pine Grove, 14045 Ponderosa Way, Pine Grove. Featured music will be “Lord of the Rings”, “Selections from Sweeney Todd”, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Gabriel’s Oboe” (featuring oboist Amy Von Gunten, “Colonel Bogey March” (from the movie “Bridge Over the River Kwai”), and much more. The 90-minute program will conclude with free refreshments. Join us on October 20 for a fun musical experience; bring the family and enjoy the spirited music!
