AMADOR COUNTY CONCERT BAND PRESENTS “MARCH [MUSICAL] MADNESS: BAROQUE TO BROADWAY" – A free concert will be presented by the 48-member Amador County Concert Band under the direction of Steve Chambers and Irv Gidding on Sunday, March 30 at 3pm. The program will be held at the Community Church of Pine Grove, 14045 Ponderosa Way, Pine Grove. Featured music will be “Selections from Fiorello”, “Somewhere” (from “West-Side Story”), “Old Hound Dog Rag”, Leroy Anderson’s “Syncopated Clock”, and much more. The 90-minute program will conclude with refreshments….bring the entire family to this exciting concert!
The Amador County Concert Band proudly represented Northern California in June 2010, when it was selected to perform in Washington D.C. for the National Community Concert Band Sousa Festival, a salute to the legendary march king, John Philip Sousa. Under former musical director Ernie Kapphahn, the band gained very high recognition and since the band’s return, has gained new members, some traveling from as far away as SonoraPlacerville, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, and Sacramento.
The band also was chosen to perform last year at the Golden Gate Park Band Festival in June and played under the recently restored historic band shell. The Amador County Concert Band represented the Northern  California area and was one of the largest ensembles to perform over the weekend. The band received superb reviews and a special recognition award for its performance.
Join us on March 30th at 3pm for an enjoyable musical experience; bring the family and enjoy the spirited music! 2014 LENTEN SOUP SUPPER PROGRAM – Each Wednesday evening in Lent, from 6-8PM, Trinity Episcopal Church will have a Soup Supper and Lenten Program. This year’s program is “The Jesus Creed: The Essentials of Christianity and The Book of Common Prayer”. Please bring your BCP if you have one. The soup suppers are held in Jane’s Hall. AMADOR DEMOCRATS PRESENT: “INSIDE JOB” - On Saturday, April 5, the Amador Democrats will proudly present the Academy Award winning movie, Inside Job. This was the first film to expose the shocking truth behind the economic crisis of 2008.  The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulting in millions of people losing their homes and jobs. 
Through extensive research and interviews with major financial insiders, politicians and journalists, Inside Job traces the rise of a rogue industry and unveils the corrosive relationships which have corrupted politics, regulations and academia.
The movie will be shown at the Amador Democrats headquarters on Saturday, April 5 at 1 PM, 829 Highway 49/88 in Jackson across the street from Poor Man's Bronze.

CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT - The Mother Lode Friends of Music is presenting a concert of classical chamber music on Sunday, April 6, starting at 2 pm in the Church of the Nazarene, 14050 Ridge Road, in Sutter Creek.  There is no admission charge.
The program features three works for winds of 20th-century French composers:  the Trio d’Anches of Pierre Max Dubois, the Vent de Folie of Didier Favre, and the Quintette en Ut of Claude Arrieu.  The performers are Janet Telford, flute, Jane Buzzard, oboe, Hank King, clarinet, Bill Minkel, horn, and Gail Buzzard, bassoon.
Soprano Marie Bedard sings two arias, The Letter Song and The Willow Song, from The Ballad of Baby Doe of Douglas Moore.
Concluding the program is the Piano Trio No. 1 of the young American composer Patrick Zimmerli, a work that Fanfaremagazine has called “sensational—a wholly satisfying musical experience.”  The performers are violinist Corina Stoian, cellist Erik Urbina and pianist Ron Brickman.

GENTLE YOGA CLASSES - Team Fitness in Pine Grove is proud to announce the start of a Beginning Hatha Yoga Program with classes offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting in early April.
Classes will run approximately 40 minutes and will probably cost $4 with a purchase of a 10 class pass, ($5 drop-in) or can be included as part of your monthly membership if you come regularly to Team Fitness. FIRST ANNUAL ROTARY  “SHOW & SHINE” CAR & VINTAGE AIRCRAFT SHOW – Sat May 31 at the Eagle’s Nest Airport in Ione, off of Ione Road. The show expects cars from throughout California and Nevada, and will feature vehicles in all categories from street rods to stock pre-1960, modified, foreign cars and more. Some trucks will also be on display.
Food, beverage and auto accessory vendors will be on site to accommodate all attendees. Amador County is known for its fine wines, and several vintners will be on-site for tasting.  A pancake breakfast will be served by the local Boy Scout Troop 477 from 7:00 to 10:30 AM. All proceeds from this breakfast will be donated to the Troop. For those with a sweet tooth, Boy Scout Troop 581 will be serving sundaes. Other food vendors will include a variety of tasty faire.
All proceeds will go to local youth organizations and the Interfaith Food Bank. General admission for the public will be $5.00 per car. SPRING JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS - Registration is now open for Spring Junior team tennis. Boys & Girls Ages 7-14 play on co-ed teams in three ability levels: beginning, intermediate and advanced. No experience is necessary, beginners are welcome! League matches will run six consecutive Saturdays from April 12 to May 17 and each team will have one practice per week starting in late March. Cost is $65 first child, $40 second child, $5 third child (max of $110 per household). Early bird special: take $10 off your total if registration is postmarked by Feb. 15. Fee includes junior USTA membership, t-shirt, season-end party, and awards. CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT - The Mother Lode Friends of Music is presenting a concert of classical chamber music on Sunday, April 6, starting at 2 pm in the Church of the Nazarene, 14050 Ridge Road, in Sutter Creek.  There is no admission charge.
The program features three works for winds of 20th-century French composers:  the Trio d’Anches of Pierre Max Dubois, the Vent de Folie of Didier Favre, and the Quintette en Ut of Claude Arrieu.  The performers are Janet Telford, flute, Jane Buzzard, oboe, Hank King, clarinet, Bill Minkel, horn, and Gail Buzzard, bassoon.
Soprano Marie Bedard sings two arias, The Letter Song and The Willow Song, from The Ballad of Baby Doe of Douglas Moore.
Concluding the program is the Piano Trio No. 1 of the young American composer Patrick Zimmerli, a work that Fanfaremagazine has called “sensational—a wholly satisfying musical experience.”  The performers are violinist Corina Stoian, cellist Erik Urbina and pianist Ron Brickman.

AMADOR MASTER GARDENERS PLANT & SEED SALE - The UCCE Master Gardeners of Amador County will be holding a plant and seed sale on Sunday, April 27, from 1-4 p.m. It will be hosted by AMADOR 360 – Winery Collective - located @ 18590 California 49, Plymouth, CA 95669. (PH: 209-245- 6600)

AMADOR COUNTY CONCERT BAND PRESENTS “MARCH [MUSICAL] MADNESS: BAROQUE TO BROADWAY" – A free concert will be presented by the 48-member Amador County Concert Band under the direction of Steve Chambers and Irv Gidding on Sunday, March 30 at 3pm. The program will be held at the Community Church of Pine Grove, 14045 Ponderosa Way, Pine Grove. Featured music will be “Selections from Fiorello”, “Somewhere” (from “West-Side Story”), “Old Hound Dog Rag”, Leroy Anderson’s “Syncopated Clock”, and much more. The 90-minute program will conclude with refreshments….bring the entire family to this exciting concert!
The Amador County Concert Band proudly represented Northern California in June 2010, when it was selected to perform in Washington D.C. for the National Community Concert Band Sousa Festival, a salute to the legendary march king, John Philip Sousa. Under former musical director Ernie Kapphahn, the band gained very high recognition and since the band’s return, has gained new members, some traveling from as far away as SonoraPlacerville, El Dorado Hills, Cameron Park, and Sacramento.
The band also was chosen to perform last year at the Golden Gate Park Band Festival in June and played under the recently restored historic band shell. The Amador County Concert Band represented the Northern  California area and was one of the largest ensembles to perform over the weekend. The band received superb reviews and a special recognition award for its performance.
Join us on March 30th at 3pm for an enjoyable musical experience; bring the family and enjoy the spirited music! AMADOR DEMOCRATS PRESENT: “INSIDE JOB” - On Saturday, April 5, the Amador Democrats will proudly present the Academy Award winning movie, Inside Job. This was the first film to expose the shocking truth behind the economic crisis of 2008.  The global financial meltdown, at a cost of over $20 trillion, resulting in millions of people losing their homes and jobs.

GENTLE YOGA CLASSES - Team Fitness in Pine Grove is proud to announce the start of a Beginning Hatha Yoga Program with classes offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting in early April.

FIRST ANNUAL ROTARY  “SHOW & SHINE” CAR & VINTAGE AIRCRAFT SHOW – Sat May 31 at the Eagle’s Nest Airport in Ione, off of Ione Road. The show expects cars from throughout California and Nevada, and will feature vehicles in all categories from street rods to stock pre-1960, modified, foreign cars and more. Some trucks will also be on display.
Food, beverage and auto accessory vendors will be on site to accommodate all attendees. Amador County is known for its fine wines, and several vintners will be on-site for tasting.  A pancake breakfast will be served by the local Boy Scout Troop 477 from 7:00 to 10:30 AM. All proceeds from this breakfast will be donated to the Troop. For those with a sweet tooth, Boy Scout Troop 581 will be serving sundaes. Other food vendors will include a variety of tasty faire.
All proceeds will go to local youth organizations and the Interfaith Food Bank. General admission for the public will be $5.00 per car. GENTLE YOGA CLASSES - Team Fitness in Pine Grove is proud to announce the start of a Beginning Hatha Yoga Program with classes offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting in early April.
Classes will run approximately 40 minutes and will probably cost $4 with a purchase of a 10 class pass, ($5 drop-in) or can be included as part of your monthly membership if you come regularly to Team Fitness. We are taking suggestions on times you would like to see these classes offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - please send an email with your interest in the gentle yoga classes and times you are interested in, and we will contact you before the program starts. SPRING JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS - Registration is now open for Spring Junior team tennis. Boys & Girls Ages 7-14 play on co-ed teams in three ability levels: beginning, intermediate and advanced. No experience is necessary, beginners are welcome! League matches will run six consecutive Saturdays from April 12 to May 17 and each team will have one practice per week starting in late March. Cost is $65 first child, $40 second child, $5 third child (max of $110 per household). Early bird special: take $10 off your total if registration is postmarked by Feb. 15. Fee includes junior USTA membership, t-shirt, season-end party, and awards. CHINA PAINTING WITH MARGARET ANWAY – Margaret Anway has decades of experience painting, as well as teaching china and glass painting. She has been published in “The China Decorator” magazine, and is happy teaching beginning artists as well as professional, and is flexible to your needs.
