DEMOCRATIC CLUB OF AMADOR COUNTY PRESENTS: “THE HOUSE I LIVE IN” - Saturday, May 3rd at 1:00 PM at the Amador Democrats' headquarters at 829 Hwy 49/88, Jackson, CA (across from Poor Man's Bronze). Refreshments will be provided.
For over 40 years, the War on Drugs has accounted for 45 million arrests, cost over $1 trillion, has made America the world's largest jailer and has damaged poor communities at home and abroad. Yet, drugs are cheaper, purer and more available today then ever. Where did we go wrong and what is the path towards healing? Brought to you by award-winning filmmaker Eugene Jarecki and executive producers Brad Pitt, John Legend, Danny Glover and Russell Simmons, The House I Live In goes inside American's longest war to examine the effects of drug laws on everyone from the dealer and the grieving mother to the jailer and the federal judge. The war on drugs has never been about drugs.
Hope to see you there! Steve Christensen, President, Democratic Club of Amador County, 209-267-0615
