Amador County Public
Health Officer Lets Stay-at-Home Order Expire:
Residents Guided
Exclusively by the Governor’s Order
Amador County, CA –
The Amador County Stay-at-Home Order will expire today, May 15, 2020. Amador
County will remain under the Health Officer’s Stay-at-Home Order updated
on May 7th for the entire state. That order continues to
restrict non-essential travel and prohibit gatherings, as travel, mixing with
others outside of your own household, and lack of physical distancing are
factors that are highly likely to lead to an increase in COVID-19 disease
transmission.
“I am extremely pleased
with how cooperative the vast majority of Amador County residents, businesses
and California residents in general have been in complying with state and local
health orders and directives. This cooperation has resulted in very good
results, with only 9 confirmed cases in the Amador as of May 15, 2020,” says
Dr. Rita Kerr, Amador County Health Officer. “The Stay-at-Home Order was very
effective in reducing the import of virus into and spread within our community,
thus protecting our residents. Across our community, people have adapted to
restrictions on nonessential activities and to the guidelines for physical
distancing, good hygiene and other safety measures.”
As our community reopens
as allowable according to Stage 2 of the State’s Resilience Roadmap, Amador
County Public Health will remain vigilant in monitoring COVID-19 in the county.
