FRIDAY
AMADOR YOUTH PROGRAMS: IT'S FRIDAY NIGHT LIVE MONTH! A lot of people ask us "what is Friday Night Live?" It began as a pilot program dedicated to reducing the number of deaths and injuries caused by teen motorists driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. BECAUSE FRIDAY NIGHTS SHOULD BE ABOUT LIVING!

Unfortunately, it feels like every year we lose someone special in our community to this issue. Young people in our community will tell you "there's nothing else to do here" that's why they drink. But if everyone in our community came together to help inspire and care for our youth they may become empowered to create the change they want to see for our county. Friday Night Live meets at Argonaut HS on Thursdays during Lunch in Lando's room, and at Amador HS on Friday's during lunch in Cagle's room. If you are or know a youth in the community who wants to be a part of the positive change. come check it out!

ART IN PUBLIC PLACES - The Amador County Artist Association (ACAA) has several benefits to being a member, one of those being Art in Public Places, where the artist can get regular exposure to build a reputation and occasionally make a sale with no commission fees.  This program also gives the location the opportunity to be known for original art on their walls and to promote awareness of original art. The exhibits rotate every 2 months.
Our current locations include Rosebud’s Cafe (downtown Jackson); the Superior Court of CA, County of Amador; American River Bank; Amador Senior Center; Sierra Eye Care; Amador Residential Care; Jackson Paint Spot; and Castle Oaks Golf Club in Ione. Currently, the program has a good balance of artists to locations. New artists and locations are always welcome. If you would like more information, contact Colleen Williams, Committee Chairperson, colleenwill@volcano.net or (209) 295-2877.
