VIA CITIZEN REPORT:
I just received a text from our columnist Martin 'Red' Johnson's wife, Maebeth, last night. Martin has 'The Legends of the Gold Country' column in our newspaper, excerpts taken from his books. He and his wife have been in AZ for the last few months, touring Yuma and Tombstone, enjoying all things western.
Maebeth writes:
"Martin is in the hospital. Been here since Sunday on a ventilator. He is sedated. His lungs aren't ready to come off the ventilator. Maybe in a day or so. Hope so. I'm here by myself so it's rough."
Today I received this update from her on Martin: "He is trach'd and his son is here now from CA and my daughter and our grandkids are coming tomorrow. No change. Doctors will wait 2 days to see if his lungs start working fully on their own again. He is not awake."
We all covet your prayers for Martin, our dear friend who we love, and for his family. He has a multitude of friends and acquaintances that his wife Maebeth would like informed of his condition. I will send updates when I know of any changes. Thank you!!
Sincerely,
Eva and Tim
