$5K GRANT AWARDED TO THE ACCF - The Amador Community College Foundation is excited to
announce the awarding of a $5000 grant to the Amador Learning
Center by the Amador
Community Foundation. We thank them for their support of our efforts to “Educate
Amador for Success!” by providing local opportunities to earn AA/AS
degrees, career technical certificates, and/or UC/CSU transfer programs.
ACCF currently has over 70 students enrolled for Spring 2014.

INTRODUCTION TO ASTRONOMY: Folsom Lake College will be offering an Introduction to Astronomy class in the Spring Semester from January 18 until May 21, 2014. This class is in a Interactive Television (ITV) format which means the instructor and students will interact and view each other on a real-time basis. Class sessions are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:20 pm (two sessions per week). This is class is worth 3 semester credits and is taught by Bob Laurent. The class will be given at the Amador County Transit Center in Sutter Hill - 117 Valley View Way, Sutter Creek, CA 95685. This center is at the intersection of Valley View Way and Bowers Ave. For enrollment information please call 209 223-6393.
DEVELOPING & OPERATING A SMALL SCALE COMMERCIAL KITCHEN –Join Farms of Amador on Saturday, January 11th from 5:30 to 8 pm for a potluck gathering at the Amador City Community Hall to learn about developing and operating a small scale commercial kitchen. Professional caterers Lucy Spangler Gore and Bill Gore will share their experience in building and operating a small scale commercial kitchen in Amador Co. Farms of Amador is excited to present this topic, the development of which will allow farmers to process their products in order to add value and increase customer appeal. This will also be an opportunity to network with the region's food producers, chefs and consumers interested in quality regional foods. Cost of the event is $10 for those who bring a pot-luck dish to share and $15 for those who come without a dish. Please bring your own place setting in an effort to reduce waste.
