BAND A.I.D.E – Sat Aug 17. A very special event, the Band A.I.D.E. (Awesome Instrument Drive Extravaganza) Kick-Off Event: “Pep Band on the Ridge”.
Since the numbers in the Bands all across the district have grown recently, the District has run out of instruments to loan. So, the Band Program is holding an instrument donation drive sponsored by the Amador Community Foundation. The Kickoff event is a fun afternoon/evening of food and music at the Amador Ridge Shopping Plaza. From 3:00-9:00 PM Dickey’s, Roundtable, Oko Sushi, Yogurt Your Way and Jamba Juice will donate 10% of their sales to the Band A.I.D.E. project. At 6:30 PM, the combined high school bands will perform a short pep band concert at the Plaza. You can bring an instrument and or money to donate to the drive, or just eat at the restaurants and help out that way. Going out to eat at your favorite Amador Ridge restaurant, hearing the pep bands and helping put an instrument into the hands of a student – what a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
The conclusion of the Band A.I.D.E. Instrument Drive is being held in conjunction with the Highway 49 Americana Music Festival on September 7th sponsored by KVGC Radio. Details are on the attached flyer and you can find more information by searching for it online or on Facebook. If you like Blues & Rock n Roll, then this is gonna be a killer festival!
